Winter is Coming [12 Jul 2011|06:39pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

I collected my pre ordered copy of A Dance with Dragons today!!! Weee so excited! I don't actually think I have been so excited about a book since the last Harry Potter. Unfortunately the sheer size of A Dance with Dragons is slighly daunting! But I shall persist!

However, since I shall be hunkering down to read the mammoth book everyone on the internet seems to have had a massive surge on being creative and there are about a million posts and fics that I really really want to read! DAMN YOU INTERNET!

Another bad thing is that I was so entranced by the shiny of my new book, whilst I was in the book shop I tried to pick up the next book in the CJ Sansom series, but due to them all kinda being named simular things, I stupidly got book five when I really wanted book four (@whitepeopleproblems I know, I know)! Of course, this means that I will have to get book four before I can even think of reading book five, it is the principle of the matter.

Oh, yeah, two weeks ago I had my weekend TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course in Edinburgh. It was a lot of fun and a lot of hard work, especially the Saturday which ran 9am to 8pm - a long ass day! Plus it was the nicest weekend we have had in a long time, so hot and sunny, and there was me stuck in a class room all day! Woe! However, thats the practical bit of the course over and done with. I have 100 hours online to do as well, which includes a bit of grammar, which as shown from the weekend course, I remember next to nothing about. Verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, my oh my! I'm totally glad that I have up to six months to finish my online part of my qualifications let me tell you. I'm also going to see if there are any volunteer positions near where I live. There are a lot of Polish people here and I am sure there must be language classes somewhere, just so I can get some experience.

So at some point I shall be going to see the last Harry Potter movie, *sob* I'm sure I will be welling up like a big baby, but, aaaaah, the emotions! So strange to think that a book which I initially wanted nothing to do with as it looked rubbish and childish would become something which I adore and treasure. Harry Potter is also the first time I dipped my toe into writing fanfic (although for reading fanfic, the honour goes to Star Trek Voyager and to Chakotay/Paris). This is my most popular H/D fic Five ways in which Draco Malfoy ignored the advice of Blaise Zabini (or how to bag a Gryffindor) if anyone wants to read it, although ironically I think it is one which was turned out in ten minutes, purely for the amusement of my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Ruth, but of course, all my ffics were turned out for her amusement, for I am but her dancing monkey. Its been three years since I last put my ficcing cap on though, and who knows, may be the new movie will inspire me - I do have a partially started fic on my hardrive which was inspired by my job and which introduces Harry and Draco to lawyers, one of whom may be Pansy Parkinson, and centers around a scary rape tree.

(although I do lie a tiny bit, I comment memed a short H50 fic a little while back which can be found here, its Steve and Danny visit Perth, Scotland second from bottom)

Argh! This post wasn't meant to be so long; a quick hi and bye!! Damn you Potter! Plus at some point I will be doing some posts on MY FICTIONAL BOOK BOYFRIEND which I saw on someone else's journal and I thought it was a totally cool idea. Methinks my first post may consist of characters from A Game of Thrones/Song of Ice & Fire.

Oooh, also, I have recently been the target of a lot of spam, does anyone know of how to disabuse the spammers? It is quite annoying to have to keep deleting their comments. At least, I think they are spammers, they could be lovely Russian people wanting to be my friend, but sadly I cannot be their friend as I don't speak Russian and don't particularly want to click on their suspicious looking links!

over and out!

[15 Jun 2011|09:56pm]
[ mood | apathetic ]

So the outcome of my rage!email of last Thursday was a meeting between me and HR, with my friend Rosey (who is a solicitor) as my "counsel" in which my punishment was decided to be a written warning on my file for 12 months. Which, apparently as far as I can tell, means fuck all (except I now get to say I am on the naughty list and am bad to the bone baybee - I do seriously say this, I am sorry world).

I came away with the following knowledge: -

1. If I ever did get into serious trouble, like criminal trouble, Rosey is definately the one I'd hire to represent me in court because she? Is A-MAZE-ING.

2. I need to get out of this job.

As soon as I calmed down I went straight on the internet and looked up dates for the TEFL course in Edinburgh and booked time off from work. Unfortunately because the universe hadn't finished taking a giant dump on me quite yet that week, by the time my days off were granted by the office manager the course had filled up. :( As I really cannot wait until August to do the course the nice lady at TEFL Scotland talked me into squeezing the three day course into their two day weekend course. So I shall be in Edinburgh on 2-3 July learning TEFL-y things. And then my brother wants me to go to 'Nam and drink 10p beer.

The Pub Treasure Hunt also went well (despite me having to find a last minute pub as one let me down on the day and me fucking up an anagram clue with letters that weren't supposed to be there) - I think, I was in the corner most of the night with a hypothetical clip board hyperventilating because things were going wrong/could possibly go wrong and OMG ARE PEOPLE HAVING FUN?....HAVE FUCKING FUN PEOPLE, HAVE FUN - BUT KEEP YOUR FUN AWAY FROM ME BECAUSE I AM STRESSED THAT YOU MAY NOT HAVE FUN AND EVERYTHING IS GOING TITS UP! HAVE FUNNNNNNN!

But yeah, I've been told people had fun and I think they are not lying to me to make me feel better because I saw evidence of fun and extremely drunk people. I also got to meet one of the trainees who like knows everything (seriously, he is the secret master) and within two minutes his extremely drunkself was all "AREN'T YOU THE ONE WHO SLEPT WITH [ex-trainee and general hated solicitor of all Perthshire and now Angus]? WHY DID YOU SLEEP WITH HIM. HE IS A CUNT AND HE IS A THIEF! HE STOLE BOOKS! BOOK THIEF!" To which I answered "yes" and "because I was very, very drunk" and "I did not know about the book stealing - what a cunt, with a small penis, which he does not know at least how to use." It would have been a fun night for me, if I hadn't been the giant ball of stressedness, I now need a fun night to call my own.

Right, off now to watch more Parks & Rec!

Oh what a major fuckup I am! [08 Jun 2011|06:18pm]
[ mood | sad ]

So today I make a mistake.

I used the word "bollocks" on a personal email sent from my work account. This would not normally be a problem but the fact is the rest of the email may have contained two not exactly nice things (but not necessarily untrue or completely undefenceble - I could, I guess I am trying to say, have been a little bit more nuanced) said about two members of the firm. The fact that I used the word "bollocks", in a completely unconnected part of the email, caused it to be flagged up as "unacceptable" and sent to the IT Department.

I was, I must explain, at the moment of writing the email feeling angry, upset, frustrated and quite stressed. I know it isn't an excuse but as soon as I hit send and was notified that my message had been flagged as "unacceptable" - I phoned the Head of the IT Department, explained that I had written the email in anger and said some not quite PC things about, amongst one other person, my boss. I was assured that the email would be deleted, so I therefore amended the email to completely cut out all that I had said about the two people and deleted the original.

However, the email was not deleted, it was sent to the HR Department and tomorrow I will have a diciplinary meeting. The other person whom I discussed in the email is a member of the HR Department, and I stand by my assertion as noted in the said email, that she is as about as much use as a chocolate tea pot.

I was angry at the time of sending the email because for the past couple of weeks I have been tasked with organising a Treasure Hunt for work. This is to take place on Friday and it has turned out that most of the work has been done by me. There is quite a lot to do before Friday and not much time to do it in, add along to that, I do have to actually do the work I am paid for, so really cannot take much time at work to work on it. Consquently I have been doing it at home and therefore have been staying up, working my arse off until 1am in the morning. I was asked if an ex-employee of the firm may be allowed to attend, and due to the fact I had been doing all the running about and it was a Social Committee function, I said yes. However, when I emailed the teams today my boss spotted the "ex-employee of the firm" and asked in quite snippy terms why she was allowed to come. I explained that at the time I was asked we were low on numbers and she would be paying the £5, which would cover her food and drink so it wouldn't cost the firm anything, and as such I didn't see a problem with her attending. My boss emailed back and asked if I had consulted with anyone regarding this. I had not. As I didn't see the issue in her attending, and when employees leave they are always told that they are welcome anytime, I did not consult with anybody. I duly took myself to the locational partner who said that he did not have a problem with it but it was not up to him and would have to be referred to the managing partner. Unfortunately the managing partner said no.

Couple this with the fact that I had been working on this project trying to get it ready for Friday, being bitched and moaned at by people regarding the treasure hunt Oh why can't you do this, Oh that sounds rubbish!, Why have you choosen that time, I don't think thats a good time, why is she allowed to come? (about my friend Lesley, ironically another ex-employee but the only fucking person other than one member of the social committee I could get to actually help me organise and plan the event), having to let my friend down, the ex-employee, after saying she could come and the fact that my brother had decided to run away from his dad's down in England and is with my uncle who can't stand him and apparently wants to come back up to Scotland, which I really can't do a fucking thing about because I am at work, in Scotland and do you really think I'll just pack up and come and get him because they had an argument over a shower?, I made a stupid mistake and bitched to my friend, the said ex-employee about my boss.....and unrelated to the whole stupid fucking Treasure Hunt, told her about the latest fuck up from the chocolate tea pot of HR.

I do see their point, I shouldn't have said those things especially not in a work email, but I was upset that basically I was working my fucking butt off so that they could have a good time on Friday and all they did was whinge and complain that she shouldn't be allowed to come like fucking school children.

And so now, I am still angry, still upset and I really, really want to cry and be sick for some reason but I am trying hard not to let it get to me. I am also worried and afraid about this whole diciplinary meeting, and I really just hate my job now; I hate my job, I hate the company and I just want to leave.

I know this is an extreme reaction but to be quite honest, as I have said before, I really do want to leave. I have been dreaming about leaving for the past three years (I've worked there for three and a half) and I have been promising myself just another few months and then you'll go for most of that time. Well, I've got some money saved up now, I've got some funding from the government to do a course in Teaching English Abroad so I guess this will act as a springboard, a kick up the arse for me to actually go out there and do it and leave finally.

And now, I all want to do is curl up and cry, but no, I have things to do for the Treasure Hunt! Fucking fantastic!

Why are they so angry? [10 May 2011|08:53pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

* So new episode of Hawaii Five-0, despite all the happy hugging that was going on all over the place (Danny and Steeeeve!) and the fact that I really cannot hate on Danny/Rachel (as much as I totally want to) because of his big daft goofy face (although show? Could we not with that relationship please? They are divorced, Rachel is still married and if we are making the brother-in-law a giant douche for cheating on his wife, don't expect me to think it is ok just because Danny is involved. It's not. Also, This entry puts why I'm not totally down with the Danny/Rachel relationship in a much more eloquent way than I could ever do) and I would totally watch an hour of the Danno and Gracie show where they just sit and watch cartoons and teach each other how to play computer games (I bet Grace would totally rock all the way to triple banana), the one defining thing I came away with was the following: -

Photobucket

Jesus people, Danny was poisoned by touching a dude who was poisoned by sarin gas...WTF was with all the touching? NO FUCKING TOUCHING M'KAY!!

* This is my new favourite musical I have never seen (also on that list is Legally Blonde The Musical and Priscilla Queen of the Desert - Rent used to be on that list for a very long time until I finally saw the movie version, which made me cry buckets of tears in the privacy of my own home so there is no way I'll do that in public), I am seriously thinking of a trip to New York just to see it.

* Oh Game of Thrones!!! I totally love you.....I am amazed you actually got me to like Jon Snow (even though I'll admit he is toes hot) for ten minutes, just have adorable Sam and his adorable accent stick to him like glue and we'll be good. And oh Gendry, does Merlin know his pal Will is still alive and working in a blacksmiths in King's Landing? And as always Tyrion = ♥! I just hope that we will be seeing some more of the Hand's Tourney next episode and a certain Knight of Flowers.

* This is a pirate: -

If there is anyone on my FList who has ever been on a Pub Treasure/Scavenger Hunt or organised one or hell, has even played a pirate in their school play, I would be extremely grateful if they could pass on any pointers as I have to organise my work's social committee treasure hunt.

I would love you to tiny pieces!!

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die [06 Apr 2011|06:13pm]
[ mood | ditzy ]

God, is it just me or is Livejournal spazzing out and breaking more often? It seems like every time I decide to get off my arse and update LJ is out of commission. Damn you LJ!

Anyway, despite LJ being a giant broken arse I have been really busy because I decided to read A Game of Thrones after being confronted with Sean Bean (and Christ is there anyone on this planet who doesn't love Sean Bean? No? Well if there is, I don't want to know about it) on the advert for the HBO new series based on the book and because I am me and like to know stuff and the show looks like it is going to be amazing, I promptly went out and bought the first book and now it is EATING MY LIFE. Seriously.

No, seriously, because I have just taken a break from reading it specially to update LJ and it is placed next to me and it is such a physical pain for me right now because it is looking at me and saying read me, reeeeeeeeeeead me! God this book! And it is not as though it is the greatest book of all time ever, its not, it has its faults, but it is just so damned addictive. Plus I am currently half playing Dragon Age: Origins at the moment so I am on a serious fantasy kick.

Also, you know, Sean Bean!

I told my co-worker the other day about Sean Bean and how I always think of him as a ravager, to which she kind looked at me and asked what I meant in a "I really don't want to know at 9:00am in the morning do I?" kind of way. To which I said that Sean Bean was the type of man who would be perfect at picking you up, slinging you over his shoulders, taking you to the nearest hay shead and ravaging you. In a sexy Sean Bean way.

Also, in the book there are several characters who are sort of described as being tall and blond and all I can think of is Lucius Malfoy (i.e. Jason Isaacs as), which is, I am afraid, a casting decision they did not go with. The main guy I totally read as being Lucius Malfoy is Jaime Lannister but they went for a different look but hey, look at Viserys Targaryen, he looks like a young Lucius:

Right, thats it...I've been away from the book too long, even if I have just been talking about the book...it calls me!

my voice [14 Jan 2011|10:35pm]
[ mood | bouncy ]

I know that you all are dying to hear my beautiful voice so I decided to oblige with the new voice meme thing which was kind of fun but also horribly horrific when I play it back to myself and I declare it sounds nothing like me! Perhaps its because I am alone in my room and you have to put on your pretend telephone voice when speaking into a mike? Isn't that a rule? Anyway, so I have, for some reason, decided that my telephone voice accent is a mixture of American/Scottish/English/part-Manc/part posh person with a cold.

I apologise profusely! - and also, after signing up with audioboo, who should send me my first message but Sir Stephen of Fry...how exciting!! (I refuse to believe that everyone else got a message from Stephen, shut up)

here are the meme instructions )

I blame the posh accent on the fact I have spent the last 3 hours plus watching Miranda. This has to be my favourite episode (and yes, that is Cenred!!!):

I then phoned my grandparents in Oldham, Greater Manchester and had a chat and decided to catch my "home" accent on the tape thingie and came up with this mess:

Books [07 Jan 2011|10:56pm]
[ mood | accomplished ]

Photobucket

Here is the giantic pile of books which is my "to read" list and looms at me from beside my bed...doesn't help that I got a book voucher for Christmas and left Waterstones today with seven of the little beauties.

I am currently reading The Strain by Guillermo Del Torro and Chuck Hogan (not pictured) which I had such high hopes for but sadly it isn't really living up to expectations. Its a vampire book which has the vampires-as-a-virus angle but infortunately there are just too many character cut aways for me to form any empathy with any of them and I currently just don't care - which is slightly unfortunate as I am meant to be rooting them on against the evil parasitic vamps!

The rest of the books, in no particular order are: -

1. Packing for Mars by Mary Roach

2. Room by Emma Donoghue

3. Battle Royale by Koushun Takami

4. Ratking by Michael Dibdin

5. The Lollipop Shoes by Joanne Harris - this is my Book Club Book for this month

6. The Devil's Star by Jo Nesbo

7. Dark Fire by C J Sansom

8. Dissolution by C J Sansom

9. Rebels & Traitors by Lindsay Davis

10. Fallen by Lauren Kate

11. Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer - my friend Mandy is making me read these...ohmygod they are awful! I like my vampire trash but seriously, these books are beyond the pale.

12. Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer

13. The Shakespeare Curse by J L Carrell

14. The Mummy Congress by Heather Pringle

15. Discipline and Punish: The Birth of the Prison by Michel Foucault

16. Between the Assassinations by Aravind Adiga

17. Glue by Irvine Welsh

18. Arabic in three months

19. The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas

20. Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way by Bruce Campbell

21. The Passage by Justin Cronin

22. The Kindly Ones by Jonathan Littell

23. People of the Pharaohs by Hilary Wilson

24. Daily life in ancient Egypt: Reconstructing Lahun by Dr. Kasia Szpakowska

Christ it has taken me over an hour to do this post, been distracted with Gosford Park!

Oh Halloh Everyone! [06 Jan 2011|09:51pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

Photobucket

Meet my new computer! His name is Denz-Dell Washington and Santa brought him to me. Isn't he adorable? The pose there is me trying to be all "The Price is Right" and sexy and smoldery holding up the prize but sadly I think it comes across as being more cross-eyed porn star, probably because of the hat (my hair was giving off major shine suggesting it needs washing) and the half open gob. C'est la vie.

Denz-dell is my travelling computer which slightly scares me and excites me all at the same time because it means in three months I shall finally have the cash to go travelling and that there will be no excuse not to go!!! Eeek!

(one slight excuse is that I shall have to sell my car which is a minor worry because I love my car but it has to be done)

At the moment I am eyeing up various TEFL courses in Europe, leaning towards Spain but Russia is looking quite interesting, and then hopefully perhaps go to South/Central America.

Anyway inbetween then and now I am going to promise to be better at updating my livejournal because I love it so and I do visit everyday anyway to check out what everyone else is doing, so even if my life is so completely boring I will have to post a picture of a cute animal just to post something!

Prepare to be spammed with cute animals!!

Anyway, Ruth and I went to Marrakesh before Christmas time and I suppose I should show you what it looked like:

Hop onboard the Marrakesh Express! )

So that was my holiday! YAY! - I now need another one if not to squirrel away in my bed and watch my newest obsession The Vampire Diaries. The first five/six episodes were quite painful but I soldiered on for Ian Somerhalder and now I find it is amazing! It was my guilty pleasure but I can safely say it is not even guilty, it is quite simply a pleasure....it also helps that Ian is in it and is smokingly hot and the writers know how to keep me happy by having him and various other male cast members take off their tops...a lot.

But, but, it is so well written and the plot is quick and doesn't drag and oh, I could gush about it forever, about how the characters actually talk to each other and tell each other IMPORTANT VITAL INFORMATION!!!

Ahem. I love it ok? Can you tell? /end fangirling! Anyone else in the I &hearts The Vampire Diaries club?

I hear you knocking, but you can't come in! [03 Nov 2010|10:43pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

You know everytime I try and write Marrakesh I have to resort to googling it. They should really have it as an easier spelling!

Anyway, the reason I am whinging about the spelling of Marrakesh, is that in three days time I will be there, in Marrakesh.

That is Marrakesh. Spelt, Marrakesh.....ah ctrl + v I love thee!

I suppose I should explain where I have been all these months without a post. Not that anybody particularly cares, but the simple fact is that I have become, or perhaps continue to be, the singularly most uninteresting person in the history of the universe. That and the laziest because I keep meaning to post something to prove I am still alive but then I can never be arsed! Which then leads on to when I can be arsed to long rambly entries like this!

I did go and see The Rocky Horror Show in Edinburgh a couple of months ago, it was, as predicted, awesome and I think everyone in the land should at some point go and see it.

have a picture of me in Rocky Horror attire flinging my leg over a handrail in Edinburgh )

I also attended my friend Mandy's Halloween party, ostensibly dressed as a maenad (not just any maenad but Agave the maenad - wikipedia her) but I spent far too long papier mache-ing a head to be King Pentheus to make the necessary thyrsus and got annoyed at having to explain exactly what a maenad was to people, so I eventually settled on either "ex-girlfriend" or "Carrie from Carrie" - which was suggested to me by Michael Myres (actually a guy dressed as Michael Myres, and not one named Michael Myres...also assume it was a guy, I never actually saw his/her face)

here is a picture: )

Anyway, I'd better leave it for now, I'm waiting for Castle to load and I am slightly tipsy from the three glasses of wine that I consumed at the Indian tonight (yum yum) with the girlies from work.

night night!

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

Although, I have tried it several times with different journal entries and it has come up with different authors almost every time! HP Lovecraft has come up twice though.

German student attacks Hell's Angels with puppy

A German student created a major traffic jam in Bavaria after making a rude gesture at a group of Hell's Angels motorcycle gang members, hurling a puppy at them and then escaping on a stolen bulldozer

German police said on Monday that after making his getaway from the Hell's Angels club, the 26-year-old dumped the bulldozer, causing a 5 km (3 miles) traffic jam near the southern town of Allershausen, local police said. He then fled to his home nearby where he was apprehended by the police.

"What motivated him to throw a puppy at the Hell's Angels is currently unclear," said a spokesman for local police, adding that the student had lately been suffering from depression.

The puppy was now in safe hands, the spokesman added.

Bad officials are elected by good citizens who do not vote. [05 May 2010|11:11pm]
[ mood | thoughtful ]

So tomorrow, I will get up, go to work, fanny about, come home, get changed and go and vote in the general election.

I made the mistake just before writing this of watching the news which tells me that tomorrow, after I have done all those things, and after I have then come home and ate my tea and maybe gone to sleep and woke up again (I am unsure of when they announce the results, but I am quite sure it is after my bedtime) that David Cameron will be my Prime Minister.

I must have missed the memo which tells me that the BBC have suddenly acquired the power of seeing into the future. And most of the newspapers across the British Isles.

I also quite liked their "explanation" of a hung parliament which basically consisted of "If we get a hung parliament, then the United Kingdom will explode and we will all die...SERIOUSLY DEATH!". And then they flipped to Greece and their riots as to emphasise the point of DEATH, DEATH TO US ALL WITH OUR HUNG PARLIAMENT!

I did do Government and Politics at A-Level (I got a B, go me!) and could do a lovely interlectual bit about how a hung parliament is not necessarily a bad thing (it isn't) and perhaps we should now look at a change in how we vote (it will never happen, sorry, it's a douchy system, but all the options are equally as douchy if you look at them analytically, especially proportional representation, because if you don't like the idea of a hung parliament you keep away from PR...seriously) but I wont because A) I cannot be bothered and there are a million better written articles about this anyway and B) I did my A-Levels over five years ago and I'll be fucked if I can remember hardly anything interlectual.

As for me, I am afraid I cannot vote for David Cameron, a man described by my mother as being "like a werewolf if you look at him from the side", or "like he is made out of balloons" by Ruth. I also cannot vote Labour. So I will go third choice (yes, we do have a third choice, we are not a two party system as much as the television would like us to believe) and vote Liberal Democrat. Go Nick! *waves flag*

- I would also like to know, just whilst I am on the subject, who do they actually get their information from in those "polls" they do for the news? Because I'm fucked if I know! And besides, the ones they used tonight didn't even add up to 100%! I want to know what the missing 4% of people thought!

Anyway, I'll leave you with this quote, which emphasises what I have been saying to those annoying people who say "I'm not voting, my vote will only be wasted" - those people should have their mouths sewn up until they do vote. Harsh, but I believe it. If you don't vote you lose the ability to talk: -

“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.” - John Quincy Adams

Although I generally just yell "NO VOTE IS A WASTED VOTE STUPID!" (with or without the stupid depending on my familiarity with the person)

April Showers Bring May Flowers [07 Apr 2010|06:45pm]
[ mood | sleepy ]

Oh April, I am just not understanding you this year. For as far as I can remember you have been nothing more to me than a singularly uninteresting month apart from the occasional choccy egg given to me on Easter Sunday, but now, this April you are a giant messy mess choc full of GODDAMN STUFF TO DO!

How rude....how exciting!

Last weekend my brother and my grandparents came up to visit and I even took a day off! I also went to see Kick-Ass on Monday, which I liked, but didn't love. Needed more Hit Girl and Big Daddy, less Kick Ass.

This weekend I think I either get a break or the grandparents will be returning with my uncle, his wife and their foster children.

Next weekend I have my friend Mandy's Hen Night, then the weekend after that I'm going to see my firm's band play in Dundee (yes, my firm has its own band) and for the final weekend I have Mandy's wedding. AND THEN going into May I may be going down to Poole to see my friend Ben (the Scuba Diving Instructor whom I went to see in Mexico, but is currently resident in Costa Rica) or if not I have a book club meeting.

It is also my friends Debbie and Lesley's birthdays.

Christ April! Busy much?

I have also just finished reading Warren Ellis' Crooked Little Vein and if it is possible I love that disgusting man even more than ever...note to you all, don't read whilst eating...seriously. I was also going to suggest that book as my book club choice, but I am so glad I cracked and read it beforehand (you have to choose books you haven't read) because there is no way I could look the older members of the club in the eye at the next meet after making them read it. Ha!

I also have some job news! I have applied for a possition with the BBC. They are opening up a new department in Salford, Manchester and I sent my CV off. They replied and I had to fill in an online assessment so I have to wait and see the result of that. Fingers crossed!

Oh Chris Morris, you are a scary, scary genius. I can't wait for this to be released and the gigantic shit storm to begin.
